A very warm welcome back to St. Joseph’s for the new school year, and welcome to all of our new families throughout the school. We wish pupils, teachers and parents a very happy and successful school year.
We have a number of new teachers on the staff this year. We wish Ms. O’ Brien, Ms. Cronin and Ms. Morley all the best in settling into life in St. Joseph’s. Best wishes to Ms. O’ Connor in her new role as Acting Deputy Principal, and Ms. Comerford who will be taking on the role of Home School Community Liaison.
We have a couple of small changes to how things operate in St. Joseph’s going forward. Assembly will no longer take place weekly, but will take place on the first Tuesday of every month. Classes will still perform, we will still have Pupil of the Month and Line of the Month, as well as all the other usual things from assemblies past. Parents are still more than welcome to attend and we look forward to seeing you there.
Unfortunately, teachers will no longer be able to facilitate the distribution of birthday cakes, party bags or other such material due to the presence of a number of food allergies in the class. It is not a measure we want to take, or are happy about taking, but the health and safety of our children and staff has to come first.
We look forward to seeing you all again and I am confident 2023/24 will be a very successful year for all in our school community.
Yours Sincerely,
Lar Hayden
Principal
